Case Study: 58% Savings
Applied example:
IZAR carbide drill Ø15.8 mm, 5xD, UF AlTiN – code 8410 16867
The adjacent graph compares two usage scenarios:
-4 new carbide drills Ø15.8 mm
-1 new drill + 3 consecutive full regrinds
Result:
Significantly reduced total cost
No real performance compromises:
Our customers report that reground tools also achieve
+20–40% tool life compared to new tools
(depending on application, material, and cutting parameters)

PVD Plated Swiss Pi311 Coating Technology
The coating is carried out in ovens with PLATIT (Switzerland) technology, using the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process, in a vacuum, at temperatures of approximately 500°C.
This process deposits a hard protective layer, based on titanium compounds, which increases wear and temperature resistance.
We offer 9 main types of PVD coatings, selected according to the application and the material being processed:
AlTiN, TiAlN, nACo³, TiXCo³, DLC, nACRo, TiCN-MP, TiCN and CrN.

Tool Presetter
- Maximum measurable diameter (X): Ø320 mm
- Maximum measurable length (Z): 400 mm
- Heat-stabilized steel structure
Companies that trust our services
Sefira collaborates with companies that constantly use cutting tools in milling, drilling, reaming, and other machining operations. Through CNC reconditioning and PVD coating, we help companies reduce their dependence on repeated purchases of new tools and optimize production costs.

FAQs
What are the advantages of reconditioning over purchasing new tools?
What are the advantages of reconditioning over purchasing new tools?
Reconditioning allows for the reuse of worn tools and can significantly reduce costs compared to repeatedly purchasing new tools. Through CNC regrinding and PVD coating, tools can be returned to production, depending on their initial condition, material, and application.
What tools can be reconditioned?
What tools can be reconditioned?
We recondition milling cutters, drills, reamers, chamfering tools, ball end mills, corner radius end mills, step drills, center drills, and certain CBN/PCD inserts. We work with carbide, HSS, CBN, and PCD tools, depending on the geometry and condition of the tool.
How do I know if my tools can be reconditioned?
How do I know if my tools can be reconditioned?
Each tool is technically inspected before reconditioning. We analyze wear, any chips, geometry, and the possibility of restoring the cutting edges. If a tool cannot be properly reconditioned, we will inform you before processing.
What does the full service include?
What does the full service include?
The service may include technical inspection, CNC regrinding, edge preparation, cleaning, PVD coating, dimensional control, laser marking, labeling and individual packaging, depending on the tool type and application requirements.
Can PVD coating be applied after resharpening?
Can PVD coating be applied after resharpening?
Yes. After regrinding, tools can be recoated with PVD using PLATIT technology. The coating is chosen based on the material being machined, the type of tool, and the working conditions.
How long does the reconditioning take?
How long does the reconditioning take?
The standard delivery time is a maximum of 10 business days, depending on the order volume, type of tools, and availability of the PVD coating process.
How can I send the tools for testing or a quote?
How can I send the tools for testing or a quote?
You can contact us via the form, WhatsApp, phone, or email. You can send a list of tools, pictures, or directly the used tools for evaluation. The Sefira team will communicate the next steps and the suitable reconditioning option.
Is there a free trial?
Is there a free trial?
Yes. For companies wishing to evaluate the service, Sefira offers a free trial within a set budget for the reconditioning of used tools and verification of results directly in production.
