Cutting Tool Inspection and Analysis
As part of the reconditioning process, each tool undergoes a technical inspection to check its general condition, degree of wear, and the possibility of restoring the cutting geometry.
The inspection includes visual verification and dimensional control of the tool to identify any defects such as chipping, excessive wear, or damage that could affect machining performance.
Based on this evaluation, it is determined whether the tool can be reconditioned and what operations are necessary for its restoration.
The inspection service is free of charge.

Sharpening worn cutting tools
Sharpening is performed on 5-axis CNC centers, equipment with automatic measurement systems.
We regrind carbide and HSS tools to their original geometry:
Twist drills
End mills
Corner radius end mills
Ball nose end mills
Carbide and HSS chamfering tools
Carbide and HSS reamers
PCD/CBN inserts

Brush honing of edges
After CNC grinding, the cutting edges of the tools undergo a controlled honing process using special abrasive brushes.
This process also contributes to better adhesion of subsequently applied PVD coatings, as well as a more uniform distribution of stresses in the active zone of the tool.

Edge preparation by wet blasting
The edges of cutting tools are subjected to a controlled honing process, carried out using wet blasting technology. This step serves to stabilize the cutting edge and eliminate stresses resulting from grinding.

PVD Coating Services for Cutting Tools
The coating is applied using Platit technology, via the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process. In this process, a protective layer is formed—for example, titanium-based—which significantly increases the lifespan of cutting tools, ensures high thermal stability, and reduces friction with the processed material.
Any cutting tool can be coated with one of the 9 main types of PVD coatings, depending on the application and material:
AlTiN, TiAlN, nACo³, TiXCo³, DLC, nACRo, TiCN-MP, TiCN, and CrN.

Measuring for cutting tools
Tools are measured and inspected to verify their diameter, length, and functional geometry, using precision measuring equipment.
For identification and traceability, we apply laser marking directly on the cutting tool, with information such as diameter, batch, or other relevant specifications.

Logistics and Tool Transportation
To simplify the reconditioning process, we offer comprehensive logistical support for the collection, transport, and return of cutting tools.
We provide customers with special compartmentalized transport boxes, designed to protect the tools during handling and transport. These allow for efficient organization of tools and reduce the risk of damage.
Upon request, we can also arrange for the tools to be collected directly from the customer's premises, facilitating their shipment to our laboratory for inspection and reconditioning.
